Introduction
I see therapy as a co-creative process that invites you to show up right where you are. My work is to meet you there with curiosity, compassion, creativity and care. Together we will move toward what needs to be spoken. What needs to be heard. This often is a uniquely deep, extended conversation. This is a conversation of attending to what is wanting to be expressed. We will build trust in this process together, creating a space that allows more and more of your authenticity to emerge. Imagine us both gliding on bicycles down a gentle hill. I will work to find your speed and companion you there.
My approach
My training is integral, which means that I seek to draw on healing and wisdom practices throughout the world. I orient in this space using contemporary psychodynamic and relational understanding, transpersonal and Jungian thought, mindfulness and Vipassana practice, existential and humanistic psychology, and nature based indigenous wisdom. I enjoy incorporating play, art and movement when it feels helpful.
This is the current iteration of a rich field of inquiry that at its core asks how we best tend to our suffering in relationships and often involves exploring our past, relationships, ideas we hold about ourselves “dreaming undreamt dreams,” and “crying uncried cries” and attuning to places of hurt with deep care and intention in the context of a strong alliance with a caring therapist.
I also draw on insights into the transpersonal and contemporary Jungian thought. This may involve exploring spiritual longing for meaning and connection, insights gleaned from dreams, synchronicities, and resonant symbols, and working to integrate these deeper longings into your life.
Another lens of understanding I hold is mindfulness. For me this is a path toward cultivating awareness of our experience in the mind and the body and learning to bring loving kindness and self-compassion to that experience.
Lastly I enjoy working with integrating psychedelic and spiritual experiences. In these expanded states we can move toward understanding our wholeness, our interconnectedness, our abiding love and joy. In therapy we can seek to understand the meaning of these experiences and how to weave them into our lives in meaningful ways.
